NRA, Hoosier Gun Owners endorse Ober

Albion – Republican candidate for Indiana State House, David Ober, announced Monday that his campaign has received endorsements from two organizations committed to protecting Hoosier’s Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. Both the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) and the Hoosier Gun Owners PAC endorsed Ober for election in the 82nd House District, the former giving him the highest rating for a candidate not currently holding office.

“A strong advocate of the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding gun owners, David Ober is the clear choice for voters in the 82nd District. We encourage all gun owners to vote for David Ober for state representative,” Hoosier Gun Owners PAC said.

“I’m honored to receive the support of both the NRA-PVF and Hoosier Gun Owners PAC. Indiana’s longstanding tradition of hunting, sportsmanship and gun ownership is an aspect of our state for which I take great pride and will work diligently to protect,” Ober said.

The NRA-PVF is the National Rifle Association’s political action committee. The NRA-PVF ranks political candidates – irrespective of party affiliation – based on voting records, public statements and their responses to an NRA-PVF questionnaire. Democrat candidate Mike Wilber received a C rating from the organization.

Ober is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

National Federation of Independent Business endorses Ober

Indianapolis – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) endorsed David Ober for election to the legislature as a part of its effort to build a larger majority of lawmakers in both houses who know the importance of small business.

“Having been part of operating a small family business in northeast Indiana, I am familiar with the challenges that small business owners face in our state. I am honored to receive the endorsement of NFIB and am deeply committed to making Indiana the most attractive place in America to do business,” Ober said.

NFIB ballots its members at the start of every legislative session to identify the issues that are most important to small businesses. It analyzes and monitors the bills and then tracks the votes of every member of the Legislature. Based on the votes it calculates a score from zero to 100 (the best) for each lawmaker and that becomes part of the NFIB Voting Record. Endorsements for incumbents are based largely on the Voting Record.

County Councilman Pankop endorses Ober

ALBION – Noble County Councilman Mark Pankop endorsed conservative David Ober in the May 8th Republican primary for State Representative. Councilman Pankop cited Ober’s conservative principles and credentials for his support.

“David Ober shares my values and the values of most Noble County residents,” County Councilman Mark Pankop said. “We need principled leaders in Indianapolis who are willing to promote our conservative values. David Ober is that type of leader.”

David Ober was grateful for Councilman Pankop’s ringing endorsement.

“Councilman Pankop has been working hard for Noble County and I am grateful to have his support for state representative,” David Ober said. “ I look forward to working with Councilman Pankop and the other local leaders in the 82nd District to put our conservative ideals into action.”
